Hike the tallest mountain in gorgeous southern Hudson Valley.

Wikipedia – “Schunemunk Mountain (also spelled Schunnemunk) is the highest mountain in Orange County, New York. The 1,664-foot (507 m) summit is located in the town of Blooming Grove, with other portions in Cornwall and Woodbury.”

“Majestic” is the words many uses to describe the vistas from atop summit. We will stop by Megaliths while on the hike and cross over many puddingstones as the sky opens to a breathtaking canvas.

This event is FREE, except if you need and receive ride you will need to contribute to the driver.

You should be in good cardio condition to make the initial ascent. Moderate difficulty.

Some limited #rockscrambling, exploration of #megaliths, and all #trail.

Location is alongside I-87 just north of Woodbury Commons about 1+ hours from NYC.

Rideshares offered. You must provide cell number and location to connect with the driver.

This is a #dayhike. Bring lunch, hiking shoes, 2+ liters hydration, warm layer, daypack, a spare shirt for after hike, etc.
